Where do we begin? By law you are required to complete a form known as the NOIM - Notice of Intended Marriage which must be lodged with your chosen celebrant not less than 1 month & 1 day prior to your marriage ceremony but can be organized up to 18 months ahead of your wedding day. |

What documents do we need to commence proceedings? Original birth certificate or authorised extract. If you were born overseas and are unable to produce your birth certificate then an overseas passport can be accepted. If you have been previously married an original copy of your Decree Absolute or Certificate of Divorce will be required. If you have been widowed an original copy of the death certificate of your former spouse is required. |

Where can we be married? A wedding ceremony may take place almost anywhere that is suitable to both parties & the celebrant, on the beach, in a park, private homes, reception venues, restaurants and many more. |

How many people need to be present for a wedding ceremony? The bride & bridegroom plus two witnesses who must be 18 years of age or over & the registered marriage celebrant. |
